Do you have a precious soft toy or teddy bear that needs some care to restore it back to full health? At Bear Doctor, I offer a variety of services designed to help your beloved toys. From washing and re-stuffing to fluffing up existing fur, I also handle more complex repairs, such as mending seams, sewing up holes, or replacing eyes or noses. While the goal isn’t to make your bear or toy look 'like new', you can trust that after their makeover, your soft friend will leave my care looking fantastic.

I have a lifetime's experience in sewing and craft, from making dressing-up clothes and repairing toys, to knitting, dress-making and quilt making. Basically, if it involves fabric and needles, you can bet I am doing it!
I have a City and Guilds qualification in Sewing and have always striven to keep up-to-date with new skills.

At Bear Doctor, my mission is to provide a bespoke repair service for your cherished soft toy, ensuring the highest standards of repair. While I may not replicate your toy exactly as it once was, with your guidance, I can perform thoughtful restoration, allowing you or your family member to enjoy many more years of happiness from it. I use only high-quality fabrics and accessories, and you can rest assured that every repair is meticulously carried out by hand.

I am in Folkestone, Kent, in the CT19 area.
Yes!
I can receive parcels through the registered post, but I also welcome you dropping off in person. Contact me via email with your photos and requirements, and I will be in touch.
Prices vary, and I will be able to give you a clearer idea of cost once you have sent me photos and I have an idea of the repairs required. This varies because of items I will need to buy, and of course, for my time!
The short answer: not really.
I can re-fur small areas, but if the bear has lost most of its original fur, I don't like to make new fur for them. This can take the character away from the original toy, which I think kind of defeats the object in restoring it.
It depends...
I only take on a few jobs at a time, and I may have to wait a few days for supplies to arrive. If your repair job is a basic wash, re-stuff and fluff, it could take only a few days.
